What it is

Where the moon asks you to soften, the sun asks you to warm.

Solar Light works with the energy of sunlight — bright, steady, uncomplicated. It's used for rebalancing and regeneration, for cleansing and protection, and in meditation. Those who practise it speak of it lifting the mood: joy, calm, peace of mind. It's often turned to in grief, and when something needs light shed on it.

There's very little to learn. You lay your hands on someone's shoulders, think Solar Light, and let it flow. You don't hold it, or steer it, or concentrate. After three to five minutes it stops of its own accord — and that's the session finished, though the energy carries on working afterwards.

It can be sent at a distance just as easily. And you can turn it on yourself, which is not a small thing for anyone in the habit of giving.

Don't mistake the simplicity of the teaching for a lack of power. It is gentle, but it is not small.

Where it comes from

Founded by Ole Gabrielsen, the Danish teacher who also brought forward Kundalini Reiki. I pass it on as I received it.

Who it's for

Anyone. No prior training needed. It sits alongside Reiki — you can use it on its own or fold it into a Reiki session — and it asks nothing of your practice except that you show up.
