Lunwyn — My Story
A quiet path, walked slowly
Twenty-five years of listening...
Welcome! My name is Amanda, and I live in North Wales, where the hills hold the weather and the light changes its mind four times before lunch.
I've been a holistic therapist and teacher for over twenty five years. In that time I've worked with reflexology, Bach flower remedies, Reiki, and with a great deal in between — enough that I've stopped counting the qualifications and started counting the people. Hundreds of them now. Some arrived exhausted. Some arrived grieving. Most arrived carrying something they couldn't quite put a name to.
What I've learned in a quarter of a century is that the therapy is rarely the point. The point is that someone finally stopped, lay down, and let themselves be still for an hour. Everything else follows from that.
Why now, more than ever...
I believe — more strongly now than when I began — that we need to return to the old wisdom.
We live in an age that is louder and faster than our bodies were built for. We carry our work in our pockets. We are never quite unreachable, never quite finished, never quite here. And we've been sold the idea that the answer to a hurried life is a more efficient one.
It isn't. The answer is slowness. Breath. Touch. Attention. The things people knew before we forgot them.
None of this is new. That's exactly why I trust it. Reiki has been quietly changing lives for a hundred years. The flower remedies I prescribe were understood long before anyone thought to measure them. Sitting still and paying attention to your own breath is the oldest medicine there is.
Lunwyn exists because I think that wisdom deserves a doorway back in.
What I believe...
I don't call myself a healer.
I believe Reiki works by helping the energy in the body to rebalance — emotionally, mentally, physically — and that this may support a person's own healing. But the healing belongs to them, not to me. I am a channel, not a source. I don't generate this energy; I simply receive it, and pass it on.
I say this plainly because I think it matters. The word healer can promise something no one can guarantee, and people who are suffering deserve better than a promise like that.
What I can offer is this: a space to slow down, an honest teacher, and something ancient and gentle that asks very little of you.
Why "Lunwyn"...
Lunwyn comes from two old words: luna, the moon, and wyn — a Welsh word meaning blessed, pure, and joyful.
There's a happy accident in that, living where I do. The name found its way home without my planning it.
I chose it because the moon doesn't rush. It waxes, wanes, and returns — always whole beneath its phases. That felt truer to me than anything I could say about progress or transformation. Your inner peace is always there, even when life's clouds hide it.
Everything here — the courses, the meditations, the art — exists to help you find your way back to it.
What I offer now...
Today I teach Reiki, from First Degree through to Master and Teacher, alongside angel and energy courses for those drawn that way. Everything is taught at distance, so you can learn from wherever you are, at whatever pace your life allows.
But distance doesn't mean absent. Every attunement I give is performed personally, for you alone, at a time we
arrange together. Never pre-recorded. Never rushed. After twenty-five years, I'm not about to start hurrying now.
My favourite students are the ones who arrive unsure — who worry they won't feel anything, or that they aren't
spiritual enough, or that they've left it too late. They are always, without exception, wrong about that.
If something here resonated, begin wherever feels right. A free meditation. A printable to sit with. A card drawn for today. Or the first step of your Reiki path.
There's no hurry. The moon doesn't rush, and neither do we.
With love, light and peace
Amanda
