What changes at this level
First Degree gives you your hands. Second Degree takes the walls away.
At this level Reiki is no longer confined to the room you're standing in, or the person on the couch in front of you. You'll be given the traditional symbols and taught to work with them — to deepen a treatment, to reach the mind and the emotions rather than only the body, and to send healing across distance. To someone in another town. To a situation you're dreading. To a version of yourself, years ago, who needed it and didn't get it.
The symbols
You'll receive the traditional Second Degree symbols, how to draw them, how to say them, and when each is called for.
I don't print the symbols on this page, and I'd be wary of any teacher who did. They are given at attunement, in their proper place. That is not mystique for its own sake — it's simply how they are passed, and it is part of what you are paying for.
Who this is for
You'll need First Degree before you begin.
[If you were attuned elsewhere, that's fine — write to me and tell me who attuned you, and I'll take it from there.] I don't insist that you trained with me. I do ask that you can name your lineage, because that's what a lineage is for.
There's no minimum waiting period I impose. But I'd gently say: if you finished First Degree last week/month/s sit with it a while. The self-treatment is not a warm-up for the real thing. It is the real thing.
