What it is

Most Reiki turns inward, toward the person on the couch. This one turns outward, toward the ground beneath them.

Fairy Realm Reiki was given to Keith Zang in 2005, at a replanted five-acre smallholding in the mountains of Washington State — land he and his wife had spent years bringing back after it was logged. It is Reiki aimed at the natural world: the growth of plants, the healing of animals, the cleansing of poisoned earth, and contact with the nature spirits traditionally said to tend it all.

Its colours are green for growth and brown for grounding, and you'll learn to work with both — a single seedling or a whole logged hillside, near at hand or across the world.

Three levels, three symbols

Level 1 is the physical: plants, animals, damaged land. Level 2 is the emotional — trauma, in creatures and in people, and in the earth herself. Level 3/Master turns to chakra activation, and teaches you to attune others.

Who it's for

Gardeners. Anyone with a patch of ground they love. Animal carers. Practitioners wanting to clear a room, a house, or the land it stands on and geniune careers for Mother Earth. Some prior Reiki is recommended, but not essential — this system assumes you understand the principles.
